Dr. David Rozek

Student voices are what we strive to hear and listen to. The Knights’ Choice Award – a student nominated award – recognizes a faculty member that has been selected by a student for not only their use of affordable course materials, but also how this affected the student financially and academically.

Dr. David Rozek, an assistant professor with UCF RESTORES and the Psychology department, was selected by the Student Government Association (SGA) as the recipient of the 2023 Knights’ Choice Award. He was nominated by student, Shamila Martin.

She wrote in her nomination: “He has found an open source, very resourceful textbook that teaches all the required material and…written out things we need for any content…not in the…textbook…I had 200 more dollars to spend on bus tickets to go home and see my family. I got 1/4th of my rent money for a month that helped me in a time where my job gave me little to no hours. I saved enough to pay for [my] utilities bill…I’m truly grateful for his efforts to reduce college costs, because even the cost of one textbook saved counts.”

…even the cost of one textbook saved counts.
