You have options when organizing your gradebook in Webcourses@UCF.  By default, grade columns are displayed in the order they appear on the Assignments page.  But you can change the order gradebook columns are displayed.  From the View menu, you can arrange them by assignment name, due date, points, or module.  You can also manually arrange columns by dragging them to new locations.

In this video, you will learn how to use the Gradebook in Webcourses@UCF (Canvas).  This 9-minute tutorial from the Canvas Community covers topics such as Sorting, Settings, Grade Posting Policy, Exporting/Importing your gradebook, Gradebook history, and more.

The Announcement notification students receive via email will now display a warning that email replies are public and posted to the announcement. This change warns students that their reply will be seen by everyone in the class.

Get ready to streamline your online teaching journey with Webcourses@UCF Support! This spring semester, we're excited to offer Open Labs for technical support on the fourth Wednesday of each month, from 10am to 1pm at the Digital Learning Center, Room 217. Simply bring your own device and you're good to go! Can't make it to the Open Lab? No problem! You can also request a personalized one-on-one session with our support team by calling 407-823-0407. Personalized sessions can be in person or with Zoom screen-sharing. Get hands-on assistance with any technical issue related to Webcourses@UCF and take your online teaching to the next level!

The goal of multimedia captions is to make content easily readable and timed for comprehension when audio content cannot be heard. However, automatic captions are not necessarily ADA compliant. Multimedia should be supported with captions and transcripts that have been edited for appropriate grammar, punctuation, and time synchronization.

Take advantage of the following opportunities to improve access to your instructional multimedia to benefit all students. 

• Apply for the Proactive Captioning for Online Courses.
• Visit the Faculty Multimedia Center (FMC) to explore self-captioning options.
• “Ask a Librarian” for additional help. They have video resources that are already captioned.

Don’t miss this new and exciting event from the Division of Digital Learning (DDL) intended to showcase showcase innovative work being conducted by UCF faculty and DDL staff.

You’re invited to the inaugural Digital Learning Day on Friday, April 14, 2023, which will be held at the UCF Fairwinds Alumni Center and with a remote attendance option.

This event is for all UCF faculty and aimed at empowering them to leverage educational technology, tools, and resources in support of UCF’s mission. 

The faculty committee will host two “Coffee & Chat” virtual sessions for potential applicants of the Barbara Truman Award for Excellence in Blended Teaching. These sessions will provide faculty who are looking to apply with the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback related to the award.

Do you have an excellent online teaching strategy to share with the world? The editorial board of the Teaching Online Pedagogical Repository (TOPR) is pleased to announce a call for submissions for new entries until March 26, 2023. Last year, over 130,000 users visited TOPR in search of online and blended teaching strategies. Each peer-reviewed entry is highly focused on one teaching practice with a solid description, concrete example(s), relevant professional practice or research literature, and key words connecting to other practices.
