The UCF Higher Education Coaching Academy is a training center designed to provide customized coaching and leadership training to individuals, teams, and organizations seeking to develop a culture of student success coaching within their institutions.
The UCF Higher Education Coaching Academy’s primary focused is on training aspiring coaches, current coaches wanting to expand knowledge and skills, and managers/leaders seeking to develop the leadership skills necessary to drive coaching teams within their institutions or organizations
Secondary services provided by the UCF Higher Education Coaching Academy include research expertise in areas related to coaching for student success, and consultancies in areas related to change management, quality assurance, design systems, and operational best practices around student coaching and coaching deliveries.
What Digital Badges are Earned?
Participants who complete the UCF Higher Education Coaching Academy’s Coaching Essentials training programs receive both a Certificate of Completion through UCF’s Continuing Education Unit (4 CEUs), and a digital badge to exemplify mastery of skills and materials. These badges include:

The Practitioner Badge
The holder of the UCF Coaching Academy’s Practitioner Badge has completed the 40-hour Coaching Essentials training program offered by the UCF Coaching Academy. This credential signifies that the holder understands the philosophies, ethics, and processes of student coaching, and the impact that coaching can have on students’ success. This badge holder has achieved a fundamental understanding of basic coaching techniques and skills, and how to apply these coaching skills to their work with students

The Professional Badge
The holder of the UCF Coaching Academy’s Professional Badge has completed the 70-hour Coaching Essentials training program offered by the UCF Coaching Academy. This credential signifies that the holder understands the philosophies, ethics, and processes of student coaching, and the impact that coaching can have on students’ success. Along with practitioner level understanding, this badge holder has demonstrated proven application of advanced coaching techniques and skills, to include ongoing relationship building, de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques, and group coaching and student support.

The Master Badge
The holder of the UCF Coaching Academy’s Master Badge has completed the 138-hour Coaching Essentials training program offered by the UCF Coaching Academy. This credential signifies that the holder understands the philosophies, ethics, and processes of student coaching, and the impact that coaching can have on students’ success. Along with practitioner and professional levels of understanding, this badge holder has achieved a mastery of student coaching, to include understanding coaching assessments and outcomes for quality assurance, student coaching advocacy and promotion in education, and elevated professional development as a student coach.
