Fall is in full swing, and we know you work hard to ensure students have the highest quality education they can at UCF. One of the ways we at the Division of Digital Learning achieve student access is through our Affordable Instructional Materials (AIM) initiative. UCF faculty have saved students over $11 million in instructional materials since 2016 through efforts such as Affordability Counts, Open Educational Resources, Library-Sourced Materials, and First Day. First Day™ is your bookstore’s inclusive access program. With this program, the cost of course materials is added as a charge for the course, by your school, and students receive benefits such as: - Deeply discounted, lowest price materials
- The guaranteed right materials
- Single Sign-On (no access codes)
- Access on or before the first day of class
Commercial publishers and other for-profit entities have set agreements with Barnes & Noble to offer discounted pricing to students for course materials that qualify for First Day™. By opting into this program, students are also able to defer payment through their student account. Friday, September 10, 2021 is the last day to enroll eligible Spring 2022 courses for First Day™. Don’t delay! Enroll your courses today to ensure your students have access to affordable instructional materials.
