We would like to start this issue of “The Special” by thanking those who responded to our survey last month. Your feedback helped us to better understand how you utilize Webcourses@UCF, and identify the specific needs and challenges of the Special Programs community.

A professional development course called Webcourses@UCF Training for Special Programs is launching soon. The survey results influenced the content, and we believe you will find the training helpful in building your course. In addition to information specific to Special Programs, we have included ‘how to’ instructions for designing your course, developing content, creating assessments, as well as a module with frequently asked questions. 

As mentioned in our last newsletter, all new Special Program course shells have New Quizzes enabled. We are also encouraging everyone to move their classic quizzes to new quizzes. Don’t wait until the last minute to migrate your quizzes. If you have questions or need assistance, please send an email to iDev@ucf.edu with the subject line “New Quizzes.”

Designing, developing and implementing a new course is a big project. It requires a comprehensive approach and thoughtful strategy to make all the content support the learning experience. The rewarding part of creating a well-designed course is an engaging and beneficial learning experience. The Implementation phase of the ADDIE model is when you present your course material to your learners.
