As we reflect on the past year, it is important to recognize our accomplishments achieved throughout the ever-changing landscape of 2022. The passion and effort we invested in our work this year was critical to the success of UCF. UCF Celebrated Historic 400,000th Graduate

In May, industrial engineering doctoral graduate Laura Segarra earned the landmark degree at summer 2022 commencement. Since the first class in 1968, UCF has awarded: ● 329,000+ bachelor’s degrees ● 63,000+ master’s degrees ● 7,000+ doctoral degrees ● 78,000+ STEM degrees

Faculty Multimedia Center Completed Major Upgrade

In May, the FMC reopened after an extensive renovation that upgraded technology and facilities to better support the UCF faculty. Enhancements include new lightboard recording studios, an augmented and virtual reality studio, and improved collaboration spaces for conferencing and workshops.

Course Redesign Initiative Earned Big Results
Since January 2018, the Pegasus Innovation Lab teamed with UCF instructional design and teaching faculty members to help improve online courses by leveraging the latest technological and pedagogical tools with the goal of increased student success and persistence. This success led to an extension of the program, with 23 new teams of more than 70 faculty members working on a total of 23 redesign projects. The results speak for themselves.

Mayor Jerry Demings Recognized CE ChargeUP! Program
In June, during his 2022 State of Orange County address, Mayor Jerry Demings celebrated Continuing Education's new partnership with JPMorgan Chase and Microsoft to offer $550,000 in free online training and career coaching to Central Florida residents who lost full-time jobs in the hospitality or leisure industries due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Online and Blended Courses Dominated
Fall 2022 enrollment data illustrated the steady growth in popularity of fully-online and blended courses in relation to total student credit hours. This significant upward trajectory reflects the hard work and focus on high quality that our efforts deliver to our most important stakeholders — our students.

CDL Fueled Major Faculty Engagement at the DLC
In September, CDL invited online-credentialed faculty members to learn about the latest updates to our key services and innovative practices during the CDL Services Expo. The event kicked off the weekly 10 Wednesdays series of in-person information and training sessions throughout the fall semester.
- 15 in-person events were presented Sept.-Nov.
- 51 individual faculty participated in at least one session
- 137 faculty engagements (duplicated headcount) were counted across all sessions
- 8 faculty members completed 15 or more of the 25 CDL Passport opportunities to qualify for the grand prize drawing
- Bernardo Ramirez, associate professor at CCIE's School of Global Health Management and Informatics, won the CDL Passport grand prize of an iPad and Apple Pencil

Continuing Education Launched Tech Training Scholarship Program
In October, Upskill Together, a new partnership with online program management company SkillStorm, expanded access to high-demand tech skills training at no cost to historically underserved communities. For every student who enrolls in a CE/SkillStorm training course, this matching program will provide a scholarship to one qualified individual. Eight institutions, including FIU, FSU, Jacksonville University, University of Tampa, and UCF, are founding partners.

Inaugural DDL Division Conference "Connected" Us

In December, the DDL Connected Conference brought us together for a series of TED Talks-style presentations and other content for us, by us. We learned how to design a digital vision board, the importance of accessibility in online courses, how to take better photographs, how to perform Spanish dances, how to create dazzling calligraphy, and much more, including a fascinating peek into the mind of our keynote speaker, Chuck Dziuban.
