Deciding which instructional materials to choose for your courses can be overwhelming. Not only are you thinking about the quality of content and the availability of resources, but you’re also mindful of the cost to your students. If you’ve made an effort to save students money in your course(s), you should be recognized! Since 2016, UCF faculty members have saved students over $11 million in instructional materials and textbooks. This monumental feat was accomplished through programs like First Day, Open Educational Resources, Library-Sourced Materials, and Affordability Counts. Affordability Counts is a statewide recognition program that acknowledges courses whose materials cost $20 or less per credit hour per semester.
