The winter holidays are here, which means it’s the perfect time to prepare for the spring semester. This newsletter will give you the chance to review your course enrollment options before submitting new Special Program requests. You’ll also find essential resources about important Webcourses@UCF features: the Accessibility Checker and New Quizzes. The new year brings new opportunities, and this is the time to set your Special Programs up for success! But if you ever feel overwhelmed, remember that we are always here to help.

Ensuring your content is accessible benefits all. This video will show you how to use the Webcourses@UCF Accessibility Checker within the Rich Content Editor to ensure your course content is accessible.

Unlike academic courses, Special Programs courses have a variety of enrollment methods. Each method affects how involved you are in the enrollment process. For example, you may manually enroll participants or select an automatic method. Review the following to determine which method is best for your course

• Manual Enrollment: This option allows you to personally enroll participants through Webcourses@UCF. You would use the participant’s UCFID to directly add them. When you add participants, they will receive an email where they can choose whether to enroll in the course.
• Enrollment via Custom URL: Within Webcourses@UCF, you can find a custom enrollment URL to send to participants. This link is unique to your course and allows participants to enroll themselves.
• Special Programs Enrollment Tool: With this method, you can bulk enroll participants using their UCFIDs. However, participants are automatically added and do not have the ability to reject enrollment.

• PeopleSoft Program Identifier (Script Enrollment): Participants are automatically enrolled based on a specific criterion.
• Enrollment Through Workday Learning: Workday Learning replaces enrollment previously provided through the myUCF portal. Workday Learning is only available to faculty and staff. Participants enroll by logging into Workday, finding the course, and clicking the Enroll button. Contact HR Information Systems at HRIS@ucf.edu if you wish to move your training to Workday Learning.

There is nothing notable in the Canvas (aka Webcourses@UCF) update for November. The next scheduled release is December 17, 2022.
