Microsoft has acquired both LinkedIn and Lynda.com. The best parts of these two platforms have been combined into LinkedIn Learning, which is designed to help professionals become better at what they do. We are excited to announce that UCF students, faculty, and staff will soon have full access to LinkedIn Learning, an on-demand learning solution.

What You Need to Know
On August 19th, the university will transition from Lynda.com to the new LinkedIn Learning platform. As a teaching faculty member, here is what you need to know about this transition. - Upgrade Date: This transition will take place one week before the start of the fall semester on August 19, 2019. Lynda.com and LinkedIn Learning will not be accessible until the following day.
- Lynda.com URLs in Webcourses@UCF: Lynda URLs will automatically redirect until March 31, 2020, after which they will no longer be valid. On November 1, 2019, the Center for Distributed Learning will search Webcourses@UCF and automatically update any old instances of Lynda.com URLs to the new LinkedIn learning URLs, regardless of course modality. No further action will be required from instructors. Note: If you do not wish to take advantage of this automated service, please notify Webcourses@UCF Support via email no later than October 15, 2019.
- Lynda.com Course Integration – The Lynda course integration will be deactivated in Webcourses@UCF once the transition is complete. A new LinkedIn Learning course integration will be available after the transition and can be manually activated in your course. You can learn more about activating course integrations here: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12933-415257079
- Lynda.com Account Data - All users, groups, reports, and saved playlists will automatically be moved to LinkedIn Learning along with all Learner history and activity upon a user’s first-time logging into LinkedIn Learning. Account data will not transfer if a user logs in for the first time after March 31, 2020.
If you have any questions about this process or simply wish to learn more about the transition to LinkedIn Learning, please visit Migrating to the New LinkedIn Learning Platform or contact Webcourses@UCF Support for additional information.
