A new quizzing engine (New Quizzes) is coming to Webcourses@UCF! You can start exploring what New Quizzes has to offer beginning Summer 2022. To learn more about the new quizzing tool, important timelines, resources, and to enroll in a self-paced online introduction course, visit the New Quizzes Migration page. (Note: Your existing quizzes will not be affected at this time.)

It can be easy to assume that students know how to communicate online, but they may not be prepared to communicate in an academic online environment. It is important to clearly lay out expectations for course communication. Check out Articulate Expectations about Online Etiquette for tips on teaching expectations for course communication to your online students.

The Pegasus Innovation Lab (iLab) will be hosting live virtual demonstrations for faculty and staff to explore the online discussion tool, Yellowdig, and prepare for a Summer and Fall pilot. Demonstrations take place on Thursday, April 7th, 11am or Friday, April 8th, 1pm.

From the “Imaginary Worlds” podcast, we recommend this 31-minute episode called LARPing in Place, which addresses how the in-person phenomenon of live action role playing (LARPing) has found new expression through distance technologies. Host Eric Molinsky shares his experience of designing for humans using technology during a pandemic.  He says, “what I like about these games is that they embrace the limitations of this technology while also creating a world inside of it.”  “LARPing in Place” has implications for the design of engaging learning experiences in online content delivery. Who says SF and Fantasy enthusiasts can’t teach us something about teaching and learning with technologies?
