Instructional video has come full circle. Learn how to add interactivity and engage your students with the Faculty Multimedia Center team. They’ll show you how to create 360 images and videos.  It’s easier than you might think! We’ll even have 360 cameras available for checkout when you’re ready to get started. We’ll review the hardware and software, answer your questions, and get you going in no time! 

Zoom fatigue is a real concern amongst online learners. Let’s get back to quality online media for your online courses. Join us and learn key tips for collaborating with the Video@CDL team when conceptualizing a video project for your Webcourses.  

During this session we’ll go over:   

• Gear and location best practices for DIY productions  
• Balancing DIY with professional approaches to video 
• Best practices for enlisting Video@CDL for new projects   
• A-B comparisons of “DIY vs. Professional” productions

Meet with the team to explore the various opportunities available to you TODAY that will help improve your online courses through online tools and collaboration. There’s no need to bring anything other than yourself and a mind opened to a world of possibilities. 

Are you teaching an online or blended course that you know is awesome? Or do you have a course that you’ve taught for a while that could be due for a spring cleaning? The Quality Initiative is a great way to have a one-on-one conversation with your Instructional Designer to discuss the best aspects of your course and the areas that could be improved. Courses that meet the evidence-based standards adopted by the Florida SUS will earn a digital badge and put you on the path towards an Award for Excellence in Online/Blended Teaching. We’ll provide the information about the initiative and review process; you can talk about your course!

You choose the hour when you visit Video@CDL. When you visit us, we’ll demonstrate the latest studio and field production technologies used to produce professional-grade, value-add videos for your Webcourses such as:  

• Green screen and teleprompter demo  
• 360-degree camera demo plus time for hands-on   
• Overview of drone and field production kits (Sony a7sIII kits, LED lights, gimbals/sliders)  
• Demo reel showcase  
• Tour of edit bays, audio booth, and video conference room

Augmented and virtual reality are quickly becoming a part of our every day reality.  

But you probably have questions like: 

• Is there VR content available that relates to my course? 
• How can I create my own VR content? 
• Is there such a thing as a VR classroom? 

You’re in luck! The Faculty Multimedia Center at UCF is actively working to answer all these questions for you. From exploring what’s currently available, to creating your own VR content using 3D scanning, AR/VR is an exciting field to explore. We’re happy to share what we’ve learned and look forward to a discussion on how UCF might best use this technology. 

Do you keep meaning to get your Webcourses@UCF in better UDL/Accessibility shape, but you haven’t had time to do it, let alone think about it? Here’s your opportunity to get your questions answered to gain more confidence in improving your students’ experience in Webcourses@UCF. We’ll be prepared to introduce the latest version of UDOIT, how to make external documents more accessible, captioning options, strategies to make your course content more welcoming for all as well as address any questions you may have. We recommend bringing a laptop with a Webcourse in mind to explore, but it’s not required. We look forward to meeting with you!
