Screencasting 101 with OBS

Screencast have you stumped? Don’t worry. With current (and free) technology like OBS Studio, creating high-quality screen captures yourself is surprisingly easy. Learn how to download and use OBS Studio features like screen capture, record from multiple sources at once (including PowerPoint, browser windows, and your webcam), and use transitions to give your video a more professional look. Creating screen capture videos for your online course can be a great way to engage with your students, help with retention, and allow you to demonstrate procedures or concepts more fully. Bring your laptop and a project in mind to experiment with, and we will share some pro tips and tricks to help you use video to maximize your online course.

The Faculty Multimedia Center at UCF is actively working to answer all these questions for you. From exploring what’s currently available, to creating your own VR content using 3D scanning, AR/VR is an exciting field to explore. We’re happy to share what we’ve learned and look forward to a discussion on how UCF might best use this technology.

Here’s your opportunity to get your questions answered to gain more confidence in improving your students’ experience in Webcourses@UCF. We’ll be prepared to introduce the latest version of UDOIT, how to make external documents more accessible, captioning options, strategies to make your course content more welcoming for all as well as address any questions you may have. Power Tips for the Best Lightboard Videos

Recording light board videos at the FMC is easier than you think. You’ll always produce attention grabbing results with this visionary tool. Not sure what it is? A lightboard is a lit glass chalkboard that’s used for recording video lectures. It allows you to face your viewers while your writing appears in front of you.
Visit the FMC for some great tips and tricks for lightboard recordings and get answers to your questions.
