The winner of the 2024 Quality Impact Award<\/a> is Charlotte Jones-Roberts. Since joining the instructional design team in 2018, she has completed more than 60 reviews as a primary and secondary reviewer (an average of 8.5 reviews per year for the past seven years). As illustrated in her submission narrative, throughout this time she has had an exuberant passion for quality and served as an advocate for quality online courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlotte has striven to work collaboratively with her fellow instructional designers, as well as outside partners. She has presented internally at the Faculty Center for Teaching & Learning’s Teaching and Learning Day, as well as the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, speaking one-on-one with our UCF faculty to spread the word about quality courses. She has also presented externally at conferences, such as OLC Accelerate, highlighting the work she and others have done towards Quality at UCF to help other institutions in their own endeavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For our UCF faculty, Charlotte has not only assisted in conducting reviews but also by providing external support. Charlotte has contributed to two “Design with Quality in Mind” articles. These articles, focusing on topics like engaging content alignment and alternative means of access, aimed to empower educators with practical strategies for enhancing the quality of online learning experiences. Additionally, she has assisted with the Quality Initiative website design and the creation of the companion courses for both instructional designers and faculty who are participating in reviews during her tenure on the CDL Quality Taskforce. By supporting her fellow faculty and colleagues in their endeavors to complete quality reviews, she in turn was helping push the needle towards deepening the impact on our faculty and students in the pursuit of quality courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My strategy for creating impact has always been to share the good word of Quality to all faculty members and our larger community.<\/p>\n
