{"id":905,"date":"2019-03-25T20:30:42","date_gmt":"2019-03-25T20:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/digitallearning.ucf.edu\/?page_id=905"},"modified":"2023-02-07T11:55:58","modified_gmt":"2023-02-07T16:55:58","slug":"cri","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/digitallearning.ucf.edu\/ilab\/cri\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Learning Course Redesign Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In partnership with the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/academicsuccess.ucf.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Division of Student Learning and Academic Success<\/a>, the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digitallearning.ucf.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Division of Digital Learning<\/a> coordinated a campus wide Digital Learning Course Redesign Initiative (DL CRI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Data have shown that when well-designed and delivered online (W), blended (M), adaptive, and active learning outperform face-to-face instruction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a longitudinal <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/evolllution.com\/revenue-streams\/distance_online_learning\/online-learning-the-new-strategic-imperative\/\" target=\"_blank\">study over 20 years at UCF<\/a>, the blended course modality consistently outperformed both traditional classroom and fully online courses on three scales:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>student success (final grade of A, B, or C)<\/li><li>withdraw rate<\/li><li>student satisfaction (SPI overall Excellent)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Divisions of Digital Learning and Student Learning and Academic Success combined their design and development experiences. They applied evidence-based instructional practices and support strategies to bring about more successful learning experiences for students in our most challenging courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between 2018-2022, the DL CRI engaged in a three-year plan with an added group project extension. The pages below highlight the data and results from the original DL CRI.
