In addition to the original goal, the goals of the extension are to also:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Continue the momentum started in the original initiative<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build upon successes and lessons learned<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Focus on collective impact and implementing change at scale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maximize innovations that were &#8220;discovered&#8221; during COVID to refine for long-term<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"blockquote blockquote-quotation\">\n  <p style=\"font-style: normal;\">Thank you for a wonderful opportunity to grow as a professor and improve teaching for excellence.<\/p>\n  <footer class=\"blockquote-footer text-default pt-2\">Maria Redmon, Senior Instructor, Modern Languages and Literatures, College of Arts and Humanities<cite title=\"Source Title\"><\/cite><\/footer>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"types-of-projects-themed-tracks-659234ce-3532-44f5-9234-6a3bd5c81ac7\">Types of Projects: Themed Tracks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The CRI Extension focused on faculty group projects that concentrated on one or more of these three tracks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Personalized Adaptive Learning (PAL)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Expand existing Realizeit development from a pilot module to complete the remaining course modules, or make major revisions based on student feedback or evaluation data<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and develop new PAL modules for a collection of related courses using a supported platform (Realizeit, Acrobatiq, ALEKS, Knewton, and ObojoboNext)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scale existing PAL courses to other sections of the same or related courses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Program Level Redesign<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Redesign course(s) taught by multiple faculty members in new blended or online modalities that may be shared as &#8220;master&#8221; course content through Canvas Commons or Blueprint<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Align and digitally redesign courses in sequence or within the same program into new blended or online modalities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Post COVID Redesign<\/strong><ul><li>Build upon innovations discovered and implemented during the COVID remote teaching experience to refine and share successful innovations across multiple courses<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Refine and share best practices for quality synchronous remote instruction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expand upon the course design and development started in Essentials of Online Teaching (EOT) &#8211; the pandemic equivalent to <a href=\"https:\/\/cdl.ucf.edu\/teach\/professional-development\/idl6543\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IDL6543<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-were-faculty-groups-selected-63868d0e-369c-400f-a294-c32135d67662\">How were Faculty Groups Selected<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For this round of digital learning course redesign extension, priority was given to team-based proposals that demonstrated the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A collaborative group project with around 3-5 faculty members who teach courses in sequence, within the same program, or that address an interdisciplinary need.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each group will have one Faculty Lead who will serve as the &#8220;team lead&#8221; for the project. The Faculty Lead will be the iLab&#8217;s primary point of contact for the group and will help keep the group on track throughout the redesign project. All other faculty members in the group are team members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A redesign of course(s) that will then be adopted by additional faculty members who teach additional sections of the same course or use in the redesign of a pre- or post-requisite course in sequence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A redesign of an undergraduate course with high enrollment and\/or high DFW rates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"faculty-support-from-the-center-for-distributed-learning-6c38898a-ad4b-4fba-9eea-58c5179dd83b\">Faculty Support from the Center for Distributed Learning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each faculty group was placed on a one-year academic timeline to complete their redesign project by the end of Spring 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout this timeframe, they attended eight cohort meetings in total which provided:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>supplemental resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>technical support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>active group work time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>networking in a community of practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Groups also received support from their Track Leads (<a href=\"https:\/\/cdl.ucf.edu\/services\/instructional\/instructional-design\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CDL instructional designers<\/a> who helped facilitate the cohort meetings) as well as their assigned instructional designers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the meetings, faculty members had the chance to participate in parlors that introduced them to available technology and additional resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guest speakers also presented campus support available to faculty from the following departments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fctl.ucf.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cdl.ucf.edu\/support\/fmc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Faculty Multimedia Center<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/academicsuccess.ucf.edu\/sarc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Academic Resource Center<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sas.sdes.ucf.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Accessibility Services<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cdl.ucf.edu\/services\/multimedia\/graphic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CDL Graphics<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cdl.ucf.edu\/about\/teams\/lst\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CDL Learning Systems &amp; Technology<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cdl.ucf.edu\/services\/multimedia\/video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CDL Video<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/digitallearning.ucf.edu\/impact-evaluation\/rite-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Research Initiative for Teaching Effectiveness<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"blockquote blockquote-quotation\">\n  <p style=\"font-style: normal;\">We have so many resources that it&#8217;s difficult to track them, so
